Spanish culture is liberal and interesting. People live in nuclear as well as joint families providing financial and social support. The architecture here consists of grandiose buildings. People in Spain are very prim and proper and like to dress and present themselves well. There are several guest and host etiquettes and food is eaten with knife and fork including fruits. In Spain men and women are referred as Don and Dona.
There are so many events and festivals in Spain which are known to people all over the world. The Tomatina festival is where people revel in the pool of tomatoes and enjoy smearing the bodies and others with tomato. There is the bull fight festival in Pamplona and mock battles in other parts of Spain. The carnival happens earlier to the period of Lent and this is the true time of festivity in Spain. There is sea food festival in O’Grove, there is a snail festival and also flamenco and music festival. When it comes to music celebration is incomplete without the flamenco and traditional concerts. There are several organizations that preserve the heritage, though Spain has ever been influenced by other religions and countries which has also effected its music.
Certain Italian composers were situated in Madrid, Spain and they began a new era by Romantic sinfonism in Spain. The guitar works of Miguel Llobet and Dionisio Aguado is well lauded. The violin and literature works of Pablo Sarasate is interesting too. A form of opera which is the Zarzuela reigned in the 17th century. The romantic era featured Issac Albeniz and Joaquin Rodrigo to name a few.
Spanish Pop became apparent after the rule of Francisco Franco. This was also the great time for rock and roll which essentially had the touch of American and British type of music. The 1950 was a great time in music in Spain. The Benidorm International Song festival naturally atttracted more tourists and the there was a series of music festivals happening all over Spain espically in Canary islands and Barcelona. Pop music became a rage and as Spain gained a main spot as a tourist centre, there was more British and American influece resulting in a renaissance in Spanish music. Julio Iglesias was the famous Spanish singer and the latest chart busters from Enrique Iglesias is another marvel.
Entertainment through music was always popular in Spain and the latest trend by internationally placed pop stars and their music collections is impressive. There is Juan Antonio Ipina alias Tontxu from the nintees which is famous for the lyrics and Risk was a big hit. Ivahn of Sugarless which is a hard rock band moved to Los Angeles to make his new band called Heccoo. This is a music mixture engaging reggae, rumbam rock, hip hop and ska gentre. The infusion of flamenco guitar strings is what makes this band unique.
