History is full of revelations. These are the unseen marks in time which has glory, fall and devastation. There are many efforts done by each country to revive the forgotten era which relates to culture, music and the tradition of the olden times. Music springs a surprises each time and it is amazing to note how the olden days where music in the folk dance and songs were the favourite pastime. Each custom as per the Spanish tradition had a ritual and song-dance event to it.

There are Spanish wedding songs and children’s songs as well. Songs and music are liked by all and suit the moods of all ages. If a person has a love for music then his boredom is taken well care off. Spanish culture is a mingling of various streams. There are influences of the East German tribe, the Jewish culture, the Arabian interests and also the Moors. Hence the Spanish music definitely is a cut above the rest of what is available in Europe.

Greek song writer Isidore wrote early music of Christian nature. As the notations were not available in ancient Greece his writing was not regarded famous. Music notes became more prominent with the tolerance preached by the Moors. The Moors gave equal importance to Judaism and Christianity and the chants in the Church resulted in music. This was known as the Mozarabic chant which had independent value. The music was influenced by several inputs from Llibre Vermell de Montserrat which is more of devotional kind of music prevailing in the 1400′s. There was the music from Islamic resources of King Alfonso X. There were collections from Santiage de Compostela which has the Codex Calixtinus.

The Ars Nova times was when the drama works of Juan del Encina went famous. There were several songbooks like the Cancionero de Palacio and Upssala. The key board works of Antonio de Cabezon was famous too. The polyphonic vocals was created during the 16th century and this became the style of Franco Flemish sect. There was a mingling of compositions from native Spain and the music reaching uptill the Netherlands and Italy. There was Gaspor Sanz from Aragon who gave importance to the guitar.

The viheula was also famous during this era. Fransico Guerrero and Cristobal de Morales were renowned composers during the Renaissance period. Later it was Tomas Luis de Victoria who reached the zenith in the late renaissance times. There were more influence in the 18th and 20th centuries and the recent Spanish music also includes heavy western influence in the form of jazz, pop, rap and electronically treated music.
